Dr. Carl J. DeStefano, DC, DACNB

Dr. Carl J. DeStefano graduated Cum Laude from the National College of Chiropractic in 1984. He is certified in Animal Chiropractic from the Options for Animals Veterinary Chiropractic Center. He has also completed all the educational requirements for the Diplomat program sponsored by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. Dr. DeStefano was an instructor in the Options for Animals Veterinary Chiropractic course until 1998. In 2001, Dr. DeStefano joined the faculty of the first University sponsored Veterinary Manual Therapy program at Colorado State University where he taught technique and functional neurology. Dr. DeStefano is also on the faculty of the State of Wisconsin licensed Veterinary Manipulative Therapy program offered through the Healing Oasis in Sturtevant, Wisconsin where he also teaches technique and functional neurology. Dr. DeStefano praticipated in the Animal Chirporactic program at Tufts Veterinary School in 2003 by teaching neurology and technique. He teaches post-certification classes to Veterinarians and Chiropractors in the specialize area of Applied Kinesiology and Neurology.

He also teaches seminars on the diagnosis and treatment of allergies in animals. Dr. DeStefano has completed all course requirements towards his board certification in Chiropractic Neurology from Logan University of Health Sciences and the Carrick Institute. He is also enrolled in the Masters Degree program in Neurology offered by the Carrick Institute. Dr. DeStefano maintains a busy human and animal practice near Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Dena Jersild, DVM

Dr. Dena Jersild received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1984 from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls. She then attended the University of Wisconsin - School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1989. After practicing for two years in equine and small animal medicine, she focused her attention solely on small animal medicine and surgery. Her passions and interests led her into the study of Veterinary Spinal Manipulation, which allowed her to attend the program being offered by Options for Animals, located in Illinois.

Beginning in July of 2001, Dr. Jersild began the study of Applied Kinesiology (AK) in Animal Spinal Manipulation care. She has completed all the courses available within this modality including its application with allergy diagnosis and treatment for animals. Further study in AK, as well as various other alternative modalities has been obtained over the years (certification not obtained).

In November 2002, Dr. Jersild joined the faculty at the Healing Oasis Wellness Center VSMT program, located in Wisconsin. Here she provides instruction on cranial nerve anatomy and function, and a comprehensive neurological examination. She also assists in instructing Veterinarians and Chiropractors on the technique and theory of Veterinary Spinal Manipulation.

Dr. Jersild currently maintains a busy animal practice near Chicago, Illinois. Her clinic provides traditional and alternative Veterinary Medicine.

Other venues include lecturing at local canine organizational meetings or events, providing demonstrations of Chiropractic medicine, writing articles for various local magazines or papers, and providing interviews for television and periodicals. Dr. Jersild mentors students on a regular basis; those interested in Veterinary Medicine, as Doctors or Technicians. She aspires to expose as many people as possible within the profession to the far-reaching potential and benefits of Spinal Manipulation and Integrative Medicine. She hopes to gain experience in other related teaching venues and hopes to pursue certification in other specific modalities of medicine to enhance her methods of practice.
